Frequently Asked Questions

How can I ensure the authenticity of a watch?
Bring your watch to us and our Swiss-trained watchmakers will carefully inspect it. We check the movement, case, and serial numbers to confirm authenticity. We can also provide a written certificate if requested.

How do I set the time on my watch?
Every watch is a little different. We’ll be happy to show you how to set your watch properly when you visit us. If you’re unsure, avoid forcing the crown—simply bring or send us your watch and we’ll set it for you to prevent damage.

How do I set the date on my watch?
It’s important not to change the date during certain hours (usually between 8 pm and 3 am) to avoid damaging the mechanism. If you’re not sure how to do it safely, visit us or send us your watch and we’ll assist you.

Can I send you my watch for polishing only?
Yes, absolutely. We offer professional polishing and refinishing services. Simply drop by our workshop or ship your watch to us securely—we’ll restore its shine.

Can I go swim with my watch?
Only if your watch is specifically rated for water resistance and tested regularly. We offer water-resistance testing and resealing in our workshop. Bring or send us your watch before swimming.

The face of my watch became foggy, what’s wrong with it?
Fog under the glass usually means moisture has entered the watch. This can quickly damage the movement. Bring or ship it to us immediately so we can dry, clean, and reseal it before further harm occurs.

My quartz watch stopped working, are you going to service the watch or is a battery replacement enough?
Most likely a battery replacement is all that’s needed. We will test your watch first, replace the battery, and if necessary, recommend a service if we find something else.

How long is the life of a battery?
Typically 1 to 3 years, depending on the watch, functions, and seals. We recommend visiting us for regular battery replacement and a water-resistance check if your watch is used near water.

What is the guarantee provided by your services?
All our repairs and services come with a 12-month guarantee, giving you confidence in the quality of our work.

Can I go swimming with my vintage watch?

We don’t recommend it. Vintage watches often lose their original water resistance. We can check and advise you on your specific watch, but in most cases, it’s best to avoid water.

Can I do any sport with an automatic watch?
Automatic watches are built to be worn daily, but heavy impacts (like tennis or mountain biking) can affect precision. For sports, we suggest a quartz or a sports-dedicated model. We’ll gladly advise you on the right use of your watch.

Can you engrave the back of my watch?
Yes, we offer laser engraving services for personalization. You can bring your watch or send it to us safely for engraving.

Do you service clocks?
Yes, we service both watches and clocks. Whether modern or antique, you can bring or send your clock to us for professional care.

Do you provide an estimate before servicing my watch?
Yes. Once we receive your watch, we carry out a full diagnostic and send you a detailed estimate for approval before starting any work.

Can I ship my watch to you safely?
Absolutely. Many of our clients ship their watches to us. We’ll guide you on safe packaging and can also provide insured return shipping for peace of mind.

How often should I service my mechanical watch?
Generally, every 4–6 years, depending on usage and environment. Regular servicing ensures reliability and prevents costly damage. We’ll be happy to assess your watch and advise you on the right interval.

What brands do you service?
We service most Swiss and international brands, from Rolex, Omega, Cartier, and Patek Philippe to independent and vintage timepieces. Contact us with your brand, and we’ll confirm.

Can you restore vintage or family heirloom watches?
Yes. Our workshop specializes in vintage restoration. Whether it’s an heirloom piece or a collectible, we carefully restore watches while respecting their originality.

Do you replace watch crystals (glass)?
Yes, we can replace scratched, cracked, or fogged crystals. We source genuine or high-quality replacement parts to match your watch.

Do you pressure test and reseal after battery replacement?
Yes, for water-resistant watches we always recommend a pressure test and resealing after changing the battery. This ensures your watch remains safe for everyday use and water exposure.

Do you provide insurance for shipping my watch back?
Yes. We ship watches securely and offer insured shipping options so you can feel confident your watch is protected in transit.

Can you replace straps or bracelets?
Yes. We carry a selection of quality straps and can order originals upon request. You can also send us your watch for a strap or bracelet change.

Do you work on luxury watches (Rolex, Omega, Cartier, etc.)?
Yes, our Swiss-trained watchmakers are experienced with high-end luxury brands. We follow manufacturer standards to ensure your watch is serviced with the highest level of care.

How do I know if my watch needs a full service or just a small repair?
If your watch is running inaccurately, stops intermittently, or shows signs of moisture or dirt, it may need more than a small repair. Bring or send it to us and we’ll evaluate it properly before recommending a service.

Can you provide an appraisal for insurance purposes?
Yes, we offer detailed watch appraisals and certificates to help you insure your timepiece.

Do you offer rush service if I need my watch quickly?
Yes. For certain repairs like battery replacement, resealing, or polishing, we can provide express service. Contact us in advance, and we’ll do our best to meet your deadline.
